Every Orange Inca piece is designed in Australia and made in Peru — by cooperativas, family businesses, and small production centres that we know personally and return to. The makers are predominantly women. The processes are predominantly by hand.

It means a person made it. Not a machine that requires a person nearby. The junco bags are woven row by row on simple frames. The frazadas are woven on traditional looms over days, sometimes weeks. The leather bags are stitched and finished by hand in a family workshop in Lima. Handmade at Orange Inca means the hands are genuinely involved — not as a marketing label but as the only way these things can be made.

Natural dyes produce slight variation in tone — two pieces of the same colourway may differ subtly. This is inherent to the dyeing process and applies across the range. With heavy wear in friction areas, slight pilling is possible on knitted pieces; use a fabric comb to gently remove it. These are the natural characteristics of an alpaca piece — not flaws.

Baby alpaca is one of the most durable natural fibres — it doesn't pill the way merino can, doesn't stretch out of shape, and retains its softness over years of wear. The natural dyes are stable and colourfast with proper care. With the right handling, an alpaca piece will look the same in ten years.

Every piece is made by hand and checked before it leaves us. If something arrives faulty or isn't as described, contact us within 14 days at returns@orangeinca.com and we'll make it right — refund, exchange, or repair.

We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges. With handmade goods, each piece is unique; once it's been made for you, it can't simply be put back.
