Frazada Rugs & Blankets

Not a throw. A vintage frazada — handwoven years ago in the Andean highlands from highland sheep wool, dyed with natural pigments, and carrying the weight, patina, and presence that only time and hand-weaving give. Each pattern is unique to the frazada it came from and will never be repeated. Use as a floor rug, wall hanging, sofa layer, or outdoor textile. Designed in Australia.

Not a throw. A frazada.

A frazada is a handwoven Andean blanket — heavy, densely woven from highland sheep wool, and made over weeks by artisans in the Peruvian highlands using techniques that haven’t changed in generations. The colours come from natural dyes applied before weaving. The patterns are the weaver’s own — bold geometric forms and colour combinations that vary from piece to piece because they were made by hand, not by machine.

In Andean communities, frazadas have traditionally been used as blankets, floor coverings, and wrapping cloths. Orange Inca sources them directly and brings them to Australia in their complete, original form.

Each frazada is one of a kind. The pattern and colourway will not be repeated — not because supply is limited, but because no two weavers, no two dye batches, and no two sittings produce the same outcome. What you receive is that exact piece, with that exact history.

Used as a statement floor rug, draped over a sofa, layered at the foot of a bed, hung as a wall textile, or taken outside for a long afternoon. Heavy enough to anchor a space. Distinctive enough to define one.

Designed in Australia. Handwoven in Peru.
