Every Orange Inca piece is designed in Australia and made in Peru — by cooperativas, family businesses, and small production centres that we know personally and return to. The makers are predominantly women. The processes are predominantly by hand.

It means a person made it. Not a machine that requires a person nearby. The junco bags are woven row by row on simple frames. The frazadas are woven on traditional looms over days, sometimes weeks. The leather bags are stitched and finished by hand in a family workshop in Lima. Handmade at Orange Inca means the hands are genuinely involved — not as a marketing label but as the only way these things can be made.

Junco is a natural reed — no two pieces of it are identical. Slight colour variation is inherent to the natural dyeing process: two bags of the same colourway may sit at slightly different points on the palette. Minor differences in weave density or tension are part of the handmade process. These variations are what separate a handwoven piece from a machine-made one.

Junco is a coastal reed that has been woven in Peru for centuries. It's stronger than raffia, holds its shape well, and develops character with use. A well-cared-for junco bag can look better in three years than it does today. Keep it out of prolonged direct sunlight, reshape it gently when damp. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct light.

Every piece is made by hand and checked before it leaves us. If something arrives faulty or isn't as described, contact us within 14 days at returns@orangeinca.com and we'll make it right — refund, exchange, or repair.

We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges. With handmade goods, each piece is unique; once it's been made for you, it can't simply be put back. We'd rather help you choose right from the start — if you have questions about sizing, colour, or whether something will work for you, ask before you buy.
