Care Guide

Spot clean only with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not machine wash or submerge. If the cushion insert needs cleaning, remove it from the cover first — the frazada cover can be gently hand washed in cold water and laid flat to dry. Do not tumble dry or iron directly on the woven surface. The natural wool will soften further with use — this is normal and desirable.

Where is this made?

Every Orange Inca piece is designed in Australia and made in Peru — by cooperativas, family businesses, and small production centres that we know personally and return to. The makers are predominantly women. The processes are predominantly by hand.

What does "handmade" actually mean?

It means a person made it. Not a machine that requires a person nearby. The junco bags are woven row by row on simple frames. The frazadas are woven on traditional looms over days, sometimes weeks. The leather bags are stitched and finished by hand in a family workshop in Lima. Handmade at Orange Inca means the hands are genuinely involved — not as a marketing label but as the only way these things can be made.

Will my piece look exactly like the photo?

Every frazada begins as the creative work of the woman who wove it. No two are identical — pattern, colour distribution, and dimensions vary between pieces, even within the same colourway. This is not inconsistency; it is the nature of the material. When the frazada is consumed in the making of a bag or cushion, that piece can never be exactly replicated.

Will it last?

Frazadas are woven from sheep wool — a fibre raised and processed at altitude, designed to withstand cold, hard use, and time. The natural dyes are fixed through traditional Andean processes and remain vibrant for years. The more a frazada piece is used, the better it tends to look. Spot clean if needed; avoid saturation. No two pieces are the same — the pattern and colour palette were chosen by the woman who wove it.

What's your returns policy?

Every piece is made by hand and checked before it leaves us. If something arrives faulty or isn't as described, contact us within 14 days at returns@orangeinca.com and we'll make it right — refund, exchange, or repair.

We don't offer change-of-mind returns or exchanges. With handmade goods, each piece is unique; once it's been made for you, it can't simply be put back. We'd rather help you choose right from the start — if you have questions about sizing, colour, or whether something will work for you, ask before you buy.

EU customers: you have a 14-day cooling-off period in line with consumer protection regulations.

Yes. We ship worldwide from Sydney via Australia Post (standard) or DHL — you choose at checkout. Delivery times vary by destination.
